He’s a major player in the global pop space and after a short hiatus, Lauv is finally back with new music this week. The crooner returns with his new single ‘26’ as he announces his highly-anticipated second studio album drops later this year.
On the track, Lauv leans on a sped-up guitar riff and hypnotic beat. Over this nuanced soundscape, his confessional lyrics paint a vivid picture with cinematic and reflective lines such as, “Can I tell you a story about a boy who broke his own heart and he always blamed everybody else, but the truth is that he did it to himself.”
About “26,” Lauv shared, “26 is the first song from my next album. It’s the moment I woke up and realized I needed to do some work to get back to the kid I was before my life and career got so crazy.”
Such honesty defines Lauv’s upcoming album. This time around, he opened up like never before to expand his signature sound. He focused on the storytelling and crafted an immersive and irresistible body of work steeped in moments of nostalgia, conflict, and, ultimately, self-empowerment.
