The Pot Luck Club Extends Its London Residency At The Waldorf Hilton Until March 2027

Following the success of its London residency, Cape Town institution The Pot Luck Club has extended its residency at The Waldorf Hilton, London, with the celebrated restaurant now set to remain in the capital until the end of March 2027.

The residency first launched on 13 August 2025, originally conceived as a limited three-month pop-up. Following a strong response from London diners, the collaboration has continued well beyond its initial run, with The Pot Luck Club now firmly established as part of The Waldorf Hilton’s food and drink offering.

The Pot Luck Club is now situated in The Wild Monkey Bar at The Waldorf Hilton, bringing the restaurant’s globally inspired small plates, bold flavours and distinctive energy into one of the hotel’s most vibrant spaces.

The Pot Luck Club at The Waldorf Hilton took a seasonal break during July and August 2026, and will be reopening in September with a refreshed menu and new cocktail offering for the London autumn and winter. The residency will now continue through to the end of March 2027.

Long hailed as one of the coolest places to eat in Cape Town, The Pot Luck Club has built an international following around its eclectic, flavour-led approach to dining. The London residency offers guests a taste of the restaurant’s signature experience through a menu designed for sharing, where global influences meet punchy flavours, unexpected combinations and the distinctive creative style for which the restaurant has become known.

The Pot Luck Club is the brainchild of British-born chef Luke Dale Roberts, one of the most celebrated names in South African cuisine. Since opening in Cape Town, the restaurant has become synonymous with inventive small plates, relaxed yet polished service and a dining experience that places flavour firmly at its centre.

For Dale Roberts, bringing the restaurant to London has long held particular significance.

“We’ve talked about bringing The Pot Luck Club to London for years, and it was always the city that made sense,” says Luke Dale Roberts. “As a Brit, there’s something meaningful about returning in this way and sharing what we’ve created in Cape Town with a London audience. The response to the residency has been incredible, so having the opportunity to extend our time at The Waldorf Hilton until March 2027 is something we’re enormously excited about.”

A NEW SEASON IN LONDON

As London moves into the cooler months, the next chapter of The Pot Luck Club residency introduces a refreshed line-up of dishes and cocktails, bringing warmth, spice and bold flavour to autumn and winter evenings in the city.

The new menu continues The Pot Luck Club’s signature approach to globally inspired small plates, combining distinctive flavour combinations with seasonal ingredients and a sense of playfulness that has always been central to the restaurant.

NEW DISHES

New additions include Tiradito with sliced hamachi, amarillo leche de tigre, squid ink tapioca crisp, avocado crema, fish roe salsa and charred jalapeño; Grilled Tandoori Cod with coconut roti, mango achar, fried aubergine, Indian-style pickled pear and tandoori broth; and a Korean Prawn Taco with kimchi dressing, ssamjang fermented tofu cream, soft-shell masa taco and crispy cabbage.

Further additions include Lamb Shank with festive spices, master stock broth, dombolo and Asian-style baby vegetables; Szechuan, Beer & Orange Duck Leg with steamed sticky rice, braised shiitake, spring onion and ginger; and an open Venison Bánh Mì with chicken liver pâté, pickled carrot, fragrant herbs, deep-fried shallot and garlic.

The dessert menu also welcomes Roots, a layered composition of parsnip and olive oil cake, celeriac granita, roast pear, apple jelly, roast Jerusalem artichoke sabayon and chestnut ice cream.

AUTUMN COCKTAILS AT THE WILD MONKEY

The move into The Wild Monkey Bar creates a natural meeting point between food, cocktails and atmosphere.

With its sophisticated jungle-inspired interiors and energetic character, the space provides a fitting London home for The Pot Luck Club – relaxed enough for cocktails and small plates, yet polished enough for a full evening out.

As autumn gives way to winter, The Wild Monkey offers an atmospheric escape from the London cold: somewhere to arrive early for a cocktail, linger over a succession of small plates or stay on for a post-dinner drink.

A new cocktail selection has been created for the season, continuing the same adventurous approach to flavour that defines The Pot Luck Club kitchen.

The Sage & Pineapple Margarita combines Blanco Tequila, sage leaves, Cointreau, lime and pineapple for a bright, aromatic take on the classic Margarita.

The Bumbu Sour, made with Bumbu Rum, bitters and egg white, brings a richer, rounded profile suited to colder evenings.

The Tom Yum combines Vusa Mango & Chilli Vodka, Tom Yum syrup and Thai basil, delivering an aromatic balance of heat, sweetness and spice.

These new additions join a wider drinks offering that includes bold cocktails and speciality Jameson serves, guests the option of enjoying a pre-dinner drink, extending the evening afterwards or simply making The Wild Monkey their destination for the night.

The result brings together two distinctive personalities: The Pot Luck Club’s irreverent, flavour-driven Cape Town spirit and the timeless glamour of The Waldorf Hilton.

A CAPE TOWN FAVOURITE IN THE HEART OF LONDON

The Waldorf Hilton occupies a landmark position on Aldwych, moments from Covent Garden, Somerset House and London’s celebrated West End theatres.

First opened in 1908, the hotel has been part of London’s social and cultural landscape for more than a century. Its combination of Edwardian grandeur and contemporary hospitality makes it a fitting setting for a restaurant known for doing things a little differently.

The Pot Luck Club’s London residency has been designed to retain the personality of the Cape Town original: vibrant, sociable and sophisticated without being formal, with food intended to be ordered for the table and shared.

Whether dropping in for cocktails, meeting friends over a selection of small plates, enjoying dinner before a West End show or settling in for a longer evening, guests can experience a taste of The Pot Luck Club in the heart of London.
