A few nights ago, I went to watch Ed Sheeran’s new concert film ‘Jumpers For Goalposts’. I have always been a big fan of Ed Sheeran and the music he makes, but watching this documentary gave me a new respect for the dude. He is a fantastic artist. Ed is probably the only person ever to play Wembley Stadium three days in a row as a one-man band. The way he builds a song from scratch in front of our very eyes using a loop station blew my mind! The film was showed at Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro cinemas for one night only – but the good news is that Ed is repackaging his ‘X’ album and is releasing ‘X (Wembley Edition)’ as a CD/DVD combo on the 13th of November!
The CD part of the album features the original songs we know and love from ‘X’ but will feature five brand new tracks – ‘Lay It All On Me’, the new single from Ed and Rudimental, ‘English Rose’, ‘Touch and Go’, ‘New York’ and ‘Make It Rain’. The DVD portion titled ‘Jumpers For Goalposts Live at Wembley Stadium’ features the breathtaking footage taken this summer as Ed made history, becoming the first solo artist to sell-out three consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium, playing to over 240,000 people! So luckily, if you missed the screenings of the concert film last week, you will be able to witness the magic live from your couch!
The film features electrifying performances of all of the hits: ‘The A Team’, ‘Don’t’, ‘Sing’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and we even get a glimpse of Sir Elton John as the two undertake a one-off duet. Aside from the live performances, Jumpers For Goalposts Live at Wembley Stadium gives viewers an insight into life on the road with Ed, giving an honest and intimate window into the journey he’s taken thus far.
