Disney and 20th Century Animation have unveiled the first teaser trailer and poster for ‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’, the long-awaited sixth installment in the beloved animated franchise, and it looks like Manny, Sid, Diego and the rest of the herd are trading ice for fire.
The teaser opens with Scrat, still desperately chasing his elusive acorn, before a volcanic eruption launches the entire gang into the air and straight into a chaotic new adventure filled with dinosaurs, lava and unexplored corners of the Lost World.
Returning to voice the franchise’s fan-favourite characters are Ray Romano as Manny, John Leguizamo as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, Queen Latifah as Ellie and Simon Pegg as Buck, alongside Crash, Eddie, Scrat and Baby Scrat. Directed by John Donkin and produced by Lori Forte, the film marks the franchise’s first theatrical release in more than a decade and promises another globe-trotting mix of comedy, action and prehistoric chaos.
The ‘Ice Age’ series first stomped into cinemas in 2002 and has since become one of animation’s most successful franchises, spawning multiple sequels, spin-offs and billions in global box office revenue.
Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see what happens when the ‘Ice Age’ literally reaches its boiling point: ‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’ hits cinemas on 5 February 2027.
