South African indie-pop sensation December Streets has been setting the music scene ablaze for over a decade – and they’re back with an exciting new era as they premiere their highly-anticipated new single ‘Kickstart’.
On the track, the band reunites with long-time friend and producer Rudolph “Dolf” Willemse who, over the years, has played a pivotal role in shaping the band’s unique sound, making him the perfect partner for this exciting new endeavor.
Describing the sound of the new track, lead singer Tristan Coetzee says “I feel ‘Kickstart’ is the beginning of a new era of sound for December Streets. We aimed to tap back into the fun, carefree vibe of our older music and combine it with the indie-pop direction we’ve crafted over the past eight or so years.”
With a string of successful releases including ‘I’ll Try,’ ‘Can You Feel It,’ ‘Magic,’ and ‘Wild Heart’, December Streets has solidified their position as festival headliners and consistently pushed their musical and performance boundaries.
The band has garnered great success over the years and their secret to longevity in the music industry is simple: never give up. “Honestly, the secret to any success I feel is not quitting or giving up,” Tristan emphasises. “We’ve always stuck together, put our heads down, and focused on making sure we’re able to put out new music and play the next show.”
