He took the crown at last season’s dramatic The X Factor UK finale and his winner’s song, a cover of OneRepublic’s ‘Something I Need’, went on to becoming one of the biggest songs of the year. Now, after spending a good few months in the studio, Ben Haenow has finally dropped his debut solo single – and the first American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, has jumped on board the track called ‘Second Hand Heart’ – a song about accepting someone who has imperfections but is willing to change for love.
The song gives us a taste of the direction Ben has decided to take his career with his upcoming self-titled album which drops on the 13th of November – the same day as the new Justin Bieber and One Direction albums release. The track is fun and romantic and sees Ben sticking to the pop/rock sound that has made him so successful so far.
Ben’s chemistry with Kelly Clarkson is clear and something tells us this song is going to be just as big as ‘Something I Need’. After hearing the track, we’re more confident than ever that his new album will be worth the wait.
