It was a massive night for music last night as the 2021 BRIT Awards celebrated the best of British and global music. In a packed O2 Arena, the first awards ceremony since the Covid-19 pandemic to feature a full audience, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Little Mix were the biggest winners of the night.
Dua Lipa was the biggest winner of the night taking home two awards for British Female and the most prestigious award of the night Mastercard British Album of the Year for her Number 1 album Future Nostalgia.
Meanwhile Little Mix made history as the first female group to win Best British Group dedicated the gong to the Spice Girls, Sugababes, All Saints, Girls Aloud and other British girl bands who came before them.
Harry Styles was awarded British Single for Watermelon Sugar while Billie Eilish took home International Female Solo Artist.
Taylor Swift was also in attendance as she took home the Global Icon award for her exceptional career so far. In fact, over the past year she has topped the British album charts three times with ‘folklore’, ‘evermore’ and ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ – the first artist to ever do so.
Featuring amazing performances from the likes of Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Rag’n’Bone Man and P!nk, Griff, The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo and Years & Years with Elton John, the ceremony was jam-packed with entertainment.
