Wizkid, Ed Sheeran and BTS Win Big At The 2021 MTV EMAs

The MTV Europe Music Awards celebrate the biggest acts that made an impact on the European music space – and this year’s ceremony was hosted by everyone’s best friend Saweetie.

Wizkid was a big winner at the ceremony taking home the Best African Act award. In a virtually recorded acceptance speech, the now globally renowned afrobeats superstar, Wizkid specially thanked the organisers and his fans. “I just want to say a big thank you to the EMAs for the award. I’ll also like to say a big thank you to my fans. Thank you for supporting Wizkid, thank you for supporting Starboy, thank you for supporting big Wiz. Africa to the world!” he said.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran and BTS proved that they’re still incredibly popular taking home two awards on the night. Ed took home Best Artist and Best Song while the Korean pop group won Best K-Pop and Biggest Fans.
