It’s always great seeing your artists make their mark in the local music space. Having solid material means that they could potentially become gamechangers in the scene and that’s exactly what Vaughn Prangley exudes as he drops his new single ‘Passing Seconds’.
Everyone will relate to ‘Passing Seconds’ in completely different ways which is what makes it so compelling. Being able to personally write, and convey such a song at such a young age, proves Vaughn Prangley is well ahead of his years.
“Passing Seconds is about pushing through struggles when the world has brought you down. Difficult times pass by and life poses it’s challenges but often amazing memories follow after,” Vaughn tells us. “The song is a lesson on using your time and energy on things that matter to you and not letting the hurdles in life hold you back. Time is something we will never be able to change. We will never get back the seconds that pass by. So, strive to live every passing second as a second to be remembered”.
The track is accompanied by a music video filmed and directed by Graeme Wyllie. The video was shot on the streets of Jozi and in a private gym, called ‘The Fort’, situated in Linden, Johannesburg. It tells the story of a girl who is down and out. She lives in her car, struggling financially and emotionally.
‘Passing Seconds’ comes just weeks after Vaughn dropped his debut EP ‘Where it Begins’. Vaughn Prangley got his start early. He started off with classical guitar teaching lessons at 9 years old, and recently bought a piano from his producer Howie Combrink. Daily, he is busy teaching himself how to master new instruments.
“Making music is what I do. It’s a way of expressing myself. I have so much drive and passion for the craft. There’s a musical engine in me that won’t ever stop”, Vaughn continues.
