Panic! At The Disco
Death of a Bachelor (Warner Music)
Breakdown: American punk-rock group, Panic! At The Disco, return with their fifth studio album ‘Death Of A Bachelor’. The creative band has already released the hits ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Victorious’ off the record and have delivered another solid album.
How Many Good Tracks: 7 of the 11.
What I Liked: Panic! At The Disco has always stuck out of the crowd with their eclectic mix of music. Brendon Urie is an incredibly passionate and emotive person and it translates in the music he writes. As with their previous albums, the songs on this record are brilliantly written and give the songs more meaning and substance while still fulfilling the role of being catchy pop songs – something that is easier said than done. The growth in the band is evident and they have, yet again, delivered a good album.
What I Didn’t Like: There are often moments where the band sounds too theatrical. The album confuses me a lot. Brendan attempts to dip his fingers in far too many genres. The title track sees the singer almost impersonating Michael Buble in between some heavier rock tracks, cheesy pop and he even tries his hand at a modern rock-infused swing track.
Best Track: Victorious
Rating: 3/5
