Breakdown: After a hiatus that felt a little too long, musician Enya is back with her eighth studio album ‘Dark Sky Island’. The album was preceded by the hit ‘Echoes In Rain’ which became another big hit for the singer and, overall, the album is another great piece of work.
How Many Good Tracks: 8 of the 11.
What I Liked: This is the Enya we know and love. Filled wit melodic harmonies, haunting vocals and a crisp, soft production, Enya delivers some of the fantastic Celtic music. Enya’s voice is the star of this album. There is no one with a voice like Enya and her unique voice and sound is captivating and even on the eighth album, she still delivers something different. The lyrics are another thing that elevate this album to new heights and it’s probably some of the best material we’ve heard from her in a long time.
What I Didn’t Like: Naturally, this is a niche market and it’s definitely’s not everyone’s cup of tea, however, if you’re a fan of Enya, you’ll really enjoy this album!
