Pearl Thusi is going international! She has remained mum on the exciting news for a while but the cat is finally out of the bag – Pearl is joining the cast of the incredibly popular TV show ‘Quantico’ as a series regular when the second season of the show starts this September.
“I have been such a big fan of the show for such a long time and it is a dream come true to be a part of it. I am proud to be paving the way for South Africa and am absolutely thrilled to be joining the extraordinarily talented Quantico team,” said Pearl.
According to a press release, Pearl will play Dayana Mampasi, a driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer. After graduating top of her class at Harvard, she worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm. But though she seems to have it all, Dayana struggles to fit in. She joins series stars Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Massri, Johanna Braddy, Blair Underwood, and Russell Tovey.
Pearl has been one of the countries most popular celebrities for years. Earlier this year she was the host of MTV’s Lip Sync Battle Africa and has been doing many hosting, radio gigs and ad campaigns in between. I’m so happy Pearl’s hard work has finally paid off. I believe she will be incredible in the show and fly the South African flag high. The second season of ‘Quantico’ premieres on the 25th of September on American channel ABC. There is currently no confirmed date for the South African premiere but I imagine it won’t be soon after.
