Over the past few weeks, I’ve had ‘Drink About’, the new collaboration from Norwegian trio Seeb and Norwegian rising star Dagny on repeat. I’ve been following Seeb ever since they remixed Mike Posner’s smash hit ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ and since then, they’ve delivered with singles like ‘Breathe’ and their collaborations with OneRepublic, Tove Lo and Greg Holden.
‘Drink About’ is the lead single off the trio’s debut EP ‘Nice To Meet You’. The single is hot and sees the group continuing their signature chilled house approach. Dagny’s strong personality and vocal adds a soothing, euphoric element to the song which is a perfect dancefloor hit. The song isn’t anything new or fresh but both artists delivered some of their best work on the banger.
“‘Drink About’ is the first single from our EP and it’s catchy but also a melancholic song,” the trio said in an interview adding that Dagny added the perfect vocal element to the song. “We thought Dagny’s vocal could fit the track, so we reached out and spent a day in the studio together. It was the perfect match – her attitude and energy truly lifts the song, in addition to her being incredible professional.” Dagny adds that “I had the most amazing day recording this track with Seeb in their studio in Oslo. I loved the song when I heard it but as I’ve not really done many features before, I was really nervous about recording with them. We instantly connected, and it made me love the song even more, and by the end of the day we had a version that we all felt really excited about”
The EP includes collaborations with the likes of Jay Sean and Skylar Grey and proves the group has what it takes to make it to the big time. This is a group you should definitely keep an eye on.
