For Durban-born singer Nicholas Arumugam, Harry Styles’ music has had a major impact on his life. So much so that the singer decided to cover the star’s powerful single ‘Falling’ – and record a music video for it.
“Falling has been on my playlist for some time now, I kept returning to it. Maybe because it is so relatable to me,” the singer tells us when asked why he decided to cover. “The song’s mood is so different from any other song out there. It has meaning to it. Those meanings are actions cannot be undone and that sometimes bad choices can bring you down as one song analyser put it. The song has also got you into your feelings.”
Nicholas premiered an official video for his cover which he says was inspired by the line “I get the feelin’ that you’ll never need me again”.
“He has realised that he has reached a new low in his life and he said about what he has lost. She’s in studio processing through dance what has happened, she’s done with him and he has now realised that his actions are permanent and there’s no going back, he in regret,” the singer explains of the storyline.
