His smash hit ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ has become one of the hottest songs of 2016 after DJ duo SeeB remixed the track, giving it a tropical house feel and now, Mike Posner has finally dropped the follow-up single ‘Buried In Detroit’. The track serves as the second single off his just-released record ‘At Night, Alone’.
Although I’m not thrilled about the fact that Mike relies once again on a remix to make his tracks commercial enough for radio, I do think the song is strong enough to keep his momentum going. The song is an interesting blend of tropical house and country, which makes it rather different from anything out there at the moment. Again, the lyrical content is perfect and Mike really tells us a story instead of simply singing a song. Vocally, he brings the husky sound we love and delivers a stellar performance.
The track features one of my favourite rappers, Big Sean. Naturally, his rap is on fire and adds a lot to the track. I love that the song has meaning and we’re glad to see Mike at the top of his game again. Expect to hear this all over your radio very soon.
