It’s an incredibly sad day for the South African music industry today. One of the country’s greatest kwaito singers, Mandoza, has died after an incredibly long battle with cancer at the age of 38 his family reveals. The news comes around a year after the singer was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The singer reportedly fell ill last week and was admitted to hospital, however, was released shortly after.
However, earlier today, Mandoza’s family rushed him to hospital yet again after he had trouble breathing, however, according to his manager Vaughn Eaton, the singer passed away shortly before arriving at the hospital with his wife Mpho. “On their way to the hospital, as they got to the gate of the hospital, he just passed away. He couldn’t breathe,” Vaughn reveals.
The star is known for hit singles such as ’50 50′, ‘‘Nkalakatha’ and many more and has, in some way or another, impacted the lives of many South Africans through his music. The star’s death is a huge loss to the local music industry and, naturally, many have already reacted to the star’s loss on social media.
Paid him a visit last week at his home. He was in high spirits. His hug was so warm. We laughed. I'll hold on to that day. Rip Mandoza ❤️u

His last public appearance was at the very empty ‘Thank You SABC’ concert last week. May his soul rest in peace and may his legacy live on through his music.
