Superbalist In The City has already anounced that Foster The People, Beardyman and Eats Everything are the international acts that will headline this year’s festival but they have made Monday that much better by announcing that Mac Miller will be perfoming at the festival as well. This hip-hop heavyweight will bring his upbeat smooth style of spitting lyrics to the iconic concert at Emmarentia Dam on 9 October.
The 24-year-old rapper has been one of the biggest new acts to make a name for himself within the world of hip-hop – and the world has definitely taken notice. Since releasing his first mix tape in 2007, Miller has released dozens of tracks, mixtapes and albums, selling hundreds of thousands of copies. His debut album, Blue Slide Park, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and in 2013 Watching Movies with the Sound Off debuted at no.3 on the same chart. Miller released Faces and GO:OD AM independently in 2014 and 2015 respectively and he has just finished his GO:OD AM tour.
Along his Johannesburg performance, Mac Miller has also been tapped to headline Cape Town’s famous Rocking The Daisies festival alongside Australian dance duo Knife Party. At the moment, Knife Party have no plans to play any sets in Johannesburg but that will hopefully change in the coming weeks.

Saturday 8 October: Superbalist in the City presents the Virgin Mobile Braam Beach Party
Venue: Juta Street, Braamfontein, will be transformed into a tropical beach paradise.
Genre: The best hip-hop, house and urban beats.
Times: 3.30pm-12am

Featuring: It’s a secret! Head down to Great Dane in Braamfontein on Thursday 7 July for the artist reveal party.
