Unapologetically honest, profound and hilarious, pop star Loufi has become the biggest underground Afrikaans rapper in South Africa.
After the success of the hit ‘Ek Is Broke’, the infectious club banger ‘Wit Skoene’ as well as ‘Boude’, which took social media app TikTok by storm, the multitalented and versatile Loufi releases his newest track ‘Baas Vannie Plaas’ this week as he begins his new musical era.
The track serves as the debut single off the star’s upcoming studio album ‘Gan Sê Jou Mense’ and is about accepting the fact that a wife will always be the boss of any marriage. “‘Baas Vannie Plaas’ is about being a boss in your own world. When you watch the music video it becomes clear that men are only the “boss” when the actual boss (the wife) is gone. Like the saying goes, behind every man is a greater woman!”, Loufi explains.
The concept of the music video focuses on the desire to live another person’s life but when we the opportunity arises, it appears that not everything that glitters is gold. There are also some well-known faces in the video making cameo appearances so keep an eye out.
Loufi promises that his debut album will be an amalgamation of genres as Loufi continues to refuse to be placed in a box. All the tracks on his album deals with his personal experiences and his observations of life and the rapper promises that fans are in for a real treat with the upcoming material.
