Dr Bone has certainly found his place in the local hip-hop space. Unapologetically himself, and unphased by the theatrics of the genre, Dr Bone sets out to tell stories – and he does this effortlessly on his new collection of work ‘iGagu’ – a six-track EP.
iGagu is a Zulu word that meaning excellence and in this case it serves it purpose as Dr. Bone’s re-introduction to the music industry with an EP that is a fusion of modern hip-hop, kasi rap and traditional maskandi.
The lyrical content and Bone’s unique flows describe the different types of stories; from the importance of women to being firm and strong in our respective life journies.
“I treated this EP like an album. I’m super excited to finally drop this. I teamed up with amazing musicians to give music lovers nothing but music that will find a home in their hearts. I hope this body of body reflects the hard work, my team and I put in,” the rapper tells us.
