As his current single ‘Take It Slow’ continues to play on radio stations across the country, Liam Burger is back with a brand-new single this week as he drops ‘When I Met You’.
‘When I Met You’ is Liam’s latest offering and is one of the most personal songs he has ever written. “I started writing ‘When I Met You’ in December 2019 while on holiday in Portugal. This was the first time I had ever been away from my girlfriend for a long period of time and spent a week in what I think was one of the most beautiful places in the world, Peniche,” Liam explains.
He adds “[The place] was full of beauty in terms of nature, architecture and history and I was very fortunate to have my guitar with me. One afternoon, I took my guitar and went for a walk on the beach. I sat down and was taken by the beauty of the area and thought about how much better it would be if I had my girlfriend with me. I sat on the beach and thought about the night that I first met her and was captured in the moment and the beautiful environment and wrote most of the song on the beach that day, but only put the final finishes to the song in January 2021.”
‘When I Met You’ is a simple story about two people taking a journey through life together and how their love for each other grows.
