Janie Bay and Danie Reënwolf Premiere Emotional New Ballad ‘Ek Glo Nog In Jou’

Two of South Africa`s most talented young Afrikaans singer-songwriters, Janie Bay and Danie Reënwolf, team up to bring their fans a beautiful new duet. “Ek Glo Nog In Jou” is a beautiful collaboration between two artists who are both known for mesmerizing their audiences time and time again with their extraordinary voices.

In the beginning of this year, Bay and Reënwolf discussed the idea of possibly working together on a song. Bay elaborates: “I have been wanting to work with Danie for a while now. But with lockdown at the time, and our respective busy schedules that followed, it was unclear how soon this was going to be possible. As the song started to take shape, I instinctively knew that this would be the right track for us to do together. We picked up the conversation and from there worked on finalizing the song. It was a relatively easy process. And at times quite spontaneous, for instance, I wrote the chorus while driving a scenic route to Paarl on a beautiful day. Our combined efforts resulted in a poetic and moving love song, about what it really means to be there for your other half when you are in a committed relationship, through thick and thin, no matter what. I am happy with how the song turned out. Danie is currently the “it guy” in the Afrikaans music world. It was a privilege for me to be able to work with him.”

Danie Reënwolf says that the feeling is mutual. “It was an honor to work with Janie and a lot of fun too. Janie has an incredible talent to take a simple concept and make it extraordinary. I think we really created something special with this song.”

The video for the track was filmed at a friend`s home in Stellenbosch. Bay wrote and directed the storyboard and helped bring her vision to life “I enjoyed this thoroughly. I love working with design and film. I initially did not think that we would have a video ready with the short deadline to release date but after giving it some thought, I realized that we could possibly make it work if we worked with a concept that could be filmed in a day,” she says. “The video story has a raw, emotional tone to it, and I think it turned out wonderfully. It is exactly what I envisioned it to be.”
