Although Ed Sheeran’s current single ‘Galway Girl’ is still rocking the airwaves, the star has has decided to release a beautiful video of one of his favourite tracks off his latest album ‘Divide’ – the African-inspired ‘Bibia Be Ye Ye’. The song was born after the star visited Ghana during his hiatus and fell in love with Africa’s culture.
The song means a lot to Ed so releasing a video for the track was something he always wanted to do. The beautifully-shot video highlights the comradery, music, fashion, markets, sport and poverty experienced in many places around the continent. In an Instagram post, the star opens up about why he always knew he’d release a video for the song. “Since it’s summer I wanted to put out a video for Bibia Be Ye Ye that was made by a fantastic director called @GyoGyimah and all filmed in Ghana. I visited Ghana last year to make music with @fuseodg and @killbeatzgh, and whilst there was exposed to such wonderful culture, food, music and scenery,” he explains. “Me and Fuse wanted to showcase all of these things in a music video to show off the beauty of it. This isn’t a single, but it’s the summer, and why not have a summer song come out with a feel good video for people to enjoy. It’s on YouTube now, just search Ed Sheeran – Bibia Be Ye Ye. And make sure you visit Ghana, it’s incredible. Enjoy the video !x”
