He’s finally back! Ed Sheeran is ready to start his new musical era as he finally premieres his brand-new single ‘Bad Habits’. The track serves as the lead single off his upcoming untitled album (expected to be called ‘Minus (-)’) and is an upbeat earworm that will delight fans around the world.
‘Bad Habits’, written alongside previous collaborators Fred again.. and Snow Patrol‘s Johnny McDaid, is the first solo song Sheeran has dropped since last year’s ‘Afterglow’.
In a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Sheeran confirmed that he’s had a “five album plan” for at least a decade, and all the album titles in the plan are featured on Ipswich Town’s kits that he sponsored.
The star premiered an official video, directed by Dave Meyers, for the track which showcases his vampire alter ego donning a bright pink suit, blonde hair and fangs.
Ed explains that the video serves as a metaphor for our own vices. “Feels great to be back with my new single. I wanted the video for ‘Bad Habits’ to play on the nature of habits in a fantastical way so I decided on vampires,” Sheeran said in a statement. “It was mega fun getting into character except for the heights (that wasn’t so fun). Enjoy x.”
