Earlier this month, rising star DBN Gogo announced that she has joined the Universal Music South Africa family where she has started her own imprint Zikode Records and now, she’s premiered her first single under the new deal – a dancefloor anthem titled ‘Bambelela’.
The track features Pabi Cooper, Felo Le Tee and Young Stunna, three fresh faces in the amapiano space, and is already a big hit on TikTok.
True to any amapiano song, the bassline is incredibly catchy and makes for the perfect dance track – and another hit by the star. On how the mid-tempo, contemporary amapiano summer track came to be, the ‘Awoa’ hitmaker explains that ‘Bambelela’, was originally meant to be female anthem, featuring only Pabi Cooper. However, Dipatje hitmaker Felo wanted to be part of the song, with the addition of Young Stunna.
