Local LGBTQ+ icons Armand Joubert and Yahto Craft have been unapologetic about their sexuality and it’s great to have artists who are so confident about who there are creating art. So, it was only a matter of time until the two joined forces on a track. This week, the duo drop ‘Cry’ – an anthem for the broken hearted.
The duo get vulnerable on the track as they sing about finding a sweet spot between doing just that while taking no prisoners.
Both artists deliver some of their best vocal performances to date on the track. Each star brings in their own individuality while coming together in harmony for a powerful and emotional chorus. Brilliantly produced by Hendrik Joerges, the song is some of their best work to date.
“In the process of creating [the song], I was reminded that it is okay to feel low and to be in touch with your vulnerability,” Armand Joubert says. “I suppressed my anger for too long towards people that hurt me and this song allowed the wall that I built to be broken. It’s okay to cry- even though you don’t wanna.”
Yahto agrees adding “‘Cry’ was a healing process and has allowed me as an artist to express my emotions in a way in I never thought possible before.”
