Zandie Khumalo is finally ready for her big break. The star, and sister of local songstress Kelly Khumalo, drops ‘Nangu Makoti’ today – her debut major label single after inking a deal with Warner Music South Africa earlier this year.
The track beautifully showcases her silky smooth vocal, personality and attitude. The song is a tribute to the union between man and woman. The track is produced by Mojalefa ‘Mjakes’ Thebe (the producer behind Zahara’s incredible new album ‘Mgodi’) and was co-written by both Mjakes and Zandie. The song shows off Zandie’s romantic side and is destined to be heard at weddings across the country for a long time to come.
Zandie is incredibly proud of her new single and is excited for South Africa to hear it. “I’m an advocate of love, my music has always been about encouraging people not to give up on love without turning a blind eye to the fact that it has its ups and downs,” she says. “With this single I took it up a notch, it’s about people who have gone through all the ups and downs and came out intact and stronger so we are now celebrating their love and the union of two families – it’s beautiful’.”
The track serves as the lead single off her upcoming debut album which is scheduled for release in February next year. Music has always played a pivotal role in Zandie’s life. She grew up watching her older sister Kelly Khumalo take the music industry by storm since 2007 and that created the spark Zandie needed to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. After finishing High School, Zandie Khumalo became a personal stylist, backup singer and manager to her sister, which she has did up until mid-2017. Now, she’s proven she’s ready to make a name for herself as she releases her beautiful new single. ‘Nangu Mkoti’ is now available on all major digital platforms.
