Zakes Bantwini Premieres ‘Osama’ Short Film

It’s one of the biggest local tracks to be released over the past few months, and as Zakes Bantwini’s ‘Osama’ continues to race up streaming charts and light up dancefloors around the country, the DJ has premiered a cinematic music video for the track that is the ultimate feast for the eyes.

Directed by Darion 4, the clip opens up with the hitmaker opening up to legendary actor John Kani on the incredible career he has had. “Do not doubt yourself. Do not allow fear to enter your heart. Remember who you are. Remember where you come from,” Kani tells Bantwini as the music begins. The Black Panther actor adds that the producer has a purpose and reminds him that he is the “descendant of the people of the sun”.

Bantwini then embarks on an epic adventure around the country as he brings his gift to the people of Mzansi. Showcasing the beauty of the South African landscape, the video ends with Zakes arriving at the sea, and celebrates with DJ Shimza, Sjava, DJ Sbu and Oskido.

“To some people this is a song, and to some this is a spiritual journey but to US this is a Film,” Zakes Bantwini wrote as he premiered the clip last week.

The video has received acclaim from fans around the country. “The Osama music video is one of the cleanest, most creative videos of the country this year. And I’m really convinced it’ll continue to be for a very long while,” one Twitter user wrote. Another added “Such creativity. I felt that intro!! God’s Speed Osama!!”.
