Sombr Returns With New Anthem ‘Homewrecker,’ a Messy, Self-Aware Follow-Up to His Breakout Year

Fresh off a standout debut performance at the 68th annual GRAMMY Awards, Sombr is wasting no time keeping his momentum alive. The Warner Records artist has released ‘Homewrecker,’ his first new single since the critically acclaimed, chart-topping 2025 debut album I Barely Know Her, and it finds him leaning even harder into emotional chaos, sharp self-awareness and creative control.

Written and co-produced entirely by Sombr himself, ‘Homewrecker’ once again underscores the multi-hyphenate’s rare ability to translate uncomfortable feelings into something both cutting and addictive. The track lives in that familiar SOMBR space: conflicted, self-interrogating, and unafraid to sit with the mess instead of smoothing it over.

The accompanying music video brings that emotional tension vividly to life. Directed by Gus Black and starring Quenlin Blackwell and Milo Manheim, the visual unfolds as a meta Western film shoot spiralling out of control. Sombr and Blackwell play co-stars under the direction of Manheim’s short-fused director, as on-set friction blurs the line between performance and reality — culminating in a high-noon-style showdown that mirrors the song’s inner conflict.

It’s a fitting visual metaphor for ‘Homewrecker’’s central tension: the uncomfortable awareness of your own role in emotional fallout. The song doesn’t position Sombr as hero or villain. Instead, it exists in the grey area where desire, guilt and honesty collide.

With ‘Homewrecker’, Sombr continues to prove that his breakout success wasn’t built on hype alone. Being the sole writer and co-producer on the track reinforces what listeners and critics have already clocked: his artistry is deeply intentional, hands-on and emotionally fearless.

If ‘I Barely Know Her’ introduced Sombr as a voice worth paying attention to, ‘Homewrecker’ shows he’s more than willing to complicate that narrative. and that’s exactly what makes this next chapter so compelling.
