British group, Years & Years, have made a huge name for themselves this year. Their singles ‘King’ and ‘Shine’ have become one of the biggest songs of the year and as we kick off the music industry’s silly season, the group have chosen ‘Eyes Shut’ as the official next single off their ‘Communion’ album – and we couldn’t have picked a better choice ourselves!
The piano ballad has so much soul and emotion in it, which is refreshing after the club bangers the band has been releasing this year. Vocally, this is probably the most impressive song on the record and Olly Alexander, doesn’t fail to deliver a few goosebump moments. I love that the song has a strong message to it as well – one of moving past your insecurities.
There is a sort of magic around this band. They keep delivering the hits no matter what type of song they release. We’ve been craving an emotional ballad on radio for a while and Years & Years have filled this gap with a perfect song! If you don’t already, make sure you get their album today. You won’t regret it!
