‘Starboy’ was easily one of my favourite albums of 2016 and after the success of the album’s lead single as well as the Daft Punk-assisted ‘I Feel It Coming’, The Weeknd has chosen fan-favourite ‘Party Monster’ as the next single off the project.
The song has a dark, eerie sound to it where The Weeknd show’s off his beautiful falsetto. The Weeknd knows where his strengths lie vocally and has calculated every vocal aspect of the song – and gives one of his best performances to date. The song is special because it is an interesting mix of pop, R&B and hip-hop and is bound to be a massive crossover hit. Lyrically, the song is another impressive piece of work by The Weeknd who manages to tell a story with his music rather than just sing the words. The song is one of the strongest on the record and I’m excited to see the reaction to the track. One thing’s for sure – The Weeknd delivers every single time. This will be another huge track for him.
