If there’s one thing we can say for certain, it’s that Kanye West (now known as Ye) is a talented and complex individual. Despite having married one of the biggest reality stars in the world, the rapper is incredibly private and hasn’t let many people into his life – until now. In partnership with Netflix, Kanye West is ready to premiere his new documentary ‘jeen-yuhs’ – a trilogy that is set to keep fans at the edge of their seat.
Now, the streaming site has dropped the first teaser for jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, which launches on the platform on 16 Feb.
The project is over 21 years in the making, and Act I will see Kanye opening up about his early years. The new teaser kicks off with Ye candidly speaking to long-time collaborator Rhymefest about whether it’s OK for West — then best known for his production work on Jay-Z’s 2001 The Blueprint album — to call himself a “genius.”
The three-part event will feature never-before-seen and rare home videos of West captured by the team of Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah.
“Everybody is born with a genius. When GOD blesses you with a vision and you move with belief in your purpose, you’ll be awakening to the fact that no matter what obstacles you face you will see that vision become reality! Trust GOD … Period,” Coodie said in a statement. Iconic Events Releasing CEO Steve Bunnell added, “For any fan or student of music today, this documentary is a must-see event and should be experienced in a movie theater with state-of-the-art sound systems. Through his work as a performer, producer, and entrepreneur, few artists or businessmen have had a greater impact on worldwide popular culture than Kanye West over the last twenty years.”
