Silly season is in full swing! Not only is there a ton of international music dropping daily, but our local scene is buzzing as well. Indie pop group The December Streets are the latest local artists to drop a music video – this time to their brand new single ‘I’ll Try’ and I’m not going to lie, it’s been on repeat since the video dropped late last week.
There are too many angry, selfish, painful songs out there at the moment, so this song is a breath of fresh air. The track is all about being there for a person when you need them the most and letting the people you love know that you are there for them during tough times. Its uplifting music like this that we should be listening to and The December Streets did an awesome job with this song.
The chorus is incredibly catchy and while the verses are a bit flat, the overall message of the song is powerful. The production is very simple but it works for the song. The band dropped an awesome music video to the song which will definitely tug at your heart strings. ‘I’ll Try’ is at number 5 on the 5FM Top 40 this week, proving that it’s already become a smash hit for the band. Remember to support local music by buying the song off iTunes.
