Taylor Swift is undisputedly the queen of the charts. Her just-released eighth studio album ‘folklore’ has already broken some impressive records and reached some incredible milestones but this week, as the album comfortably sits at number one on the Billboard 200 for a sixth week, the star has hit even more milestones.
As it claims another 90,000 sales this week, ‘folklore’’s sixth week at number one means that the record officially claims the title of the longest-running number one of 2020 so far. The milestone also means that Taylor officially ties Whitney Houston for the most weeks at number one among women with 46 non-consecutive weeks atop of the chart.
A sixth week at number one also means that Taylor now becomes the second act to have five albums spend six weeks atop of the Billboard 200 tying a record set by The Beatles.
‘folklore’ continues to be a massive record for Taylor and is on track to break even more records in the weeks to come.
