It’s that time of the year where radio contract renewals often mean a change in the line-up of your favourite radio stations. We’ve already seen a number of massive moves and in a massive blow for local radio, Rob Forbes and Fix Moeti have announced that they will be leaving the popular 5FM daytime show and hang up their headphones for good. The last Forbes & Fix show will be on 31 March 2021.
Praising his co-host, Rob admits that he has learned so much from Fix over the years. “Fixie you have been through everything, and it has done nothing but make you stronger, and I will never not admire that.”
After joining the station back in 2012, Rob admits that he has had an incredible run on the station and that he is looking forward to expanding his horizons outside of the medium. “Radio is one thing, and I am far too interested in far too many things to make this one thing the only thing,” Rob said in the statement. He adds that he has retired from radio (for now). “There is also no ’next radio show’ plan. I have no new show lined up somewhere else. That was never my goal,” he continues.

Rob’s co-host Fix Moeti has also confirmed her exit from the station. “Goodbye 💋 2432 shows later and its officially time to drop the mic. I have served in the radio broadcasting industry for 12 years,” she says.
In a touching tribute, the praises Rob for their exceptional time on air over the last nine years. “We have experienced amazing moments in life and have had the opportunity to share those moments live on air with our listeners everyday,” she says. I do not take any of it for granted. Your love for radio and your professionalism on-air is admirable.”
We wish both Forbes and Fix all the best on their next chapter. Radio won’t be the same without them…
