Meghan Trainor
Thank You (Deluxe Edition) (Sony Music)
Breakdown: After the incredible success of her previous album ‘Title’, Meghan Trainor wasted no time and has just dropped her brand new album ‘Thank You’. The record includes the smash hit ‘NO’ as well as the brand new single ‘Me Too’ which is racing up the charts.
How Many Good Tracks: 12 of the 17.
What I Liked: If you’re a fan of pop music, you’ll really enjoy this record. There is no doubt that Meghan is talented. Her songwriting is on point and the many ballads on the record show just how strong her vocals really are. There are quite a few hits on the album which will ensure that her Top 40 success follows through for the next few months. Meghan shows a lot of growth in the short time between albums. The singer has experimented with a variety of genres on the album and has smashed each and every single one. I like how this is an album about self-worth. Although Meghan still has some work to do, she is probably one of the most exciting pop acts in music right now.
What I Didn’t Like: Meghan seems to just blend into the already saturated pop scene. Sure, her music is played on almost every Top 40 radio station in the world and people are buying her music but there is nothing that differentiates her from the crowd and makes her unique.
