Local pop trio Mi Casa is back with some brand-new music as they officially embark on the next era of their illustrious music career. Over the past few months, J’Something, Dr Duda and Mo-T have been hard at work on their upcoming album ‘We Made It’ and now, the group has premiered the official music video for the album’s lead single ‘Church Bells’.
The music video is vibrant and colourful and gives fans a glimmer of hope during these trying times. In fact, in a recent Instagram post, J’Something announced that while the group is excited to release their new record, they hoped it would be under different circumstances.
“To be honest, I have never been this excited to release new music. Not only because we’re celebrating our 10yrs together as a band but, this music has so much depth! Right now where we are in the world, it’s tough, uncomfortable and quite scary and we’ve been blessed with the gift of music to share with the world. That’s humbling. So everything feels new again, the sound, our look… our passion,” J’Something says.
“I know how hard this moment is for us as a nation and as a society…if I can just let you know from our side we’ve lost absolutely everything. For this album we had a European tour planned for June and July and that’s cancelled, Local album tours planned for April and May all cancelled, and all other shows cancelled/postponed…we have nothing,” he explains.
However, J’Something admits that while they had a detailed roll-out plan, at the end of the day, the album was created for the fans. “BUT before this sounds super grim…I wanna let you know that we have YOU! We have your love and passion, we have your support for the music and to be releasing an album at this time is probably the most daunting thing we’ve ever had to do,” he continues. “More so, it’s the amount of money we have already invested into the project and hoping that the return would be the bookings. With all that said, I want to encourage you all…do not lose hope, look around and realise the blessings, the breath in your lungs, the roof over your heads, to food on the table and the relationships in place! Together we are going to get through this.”
