Canadian pop duo Neon Dreams have found a wealth of South African fans since the release of their massive single ‘Life Without Fantasies’. In fact, the country welcomed the duo with open arms that they have been on tour in the country over the past two months. To celebrate, the duo have teamed up with Mzansi’s Max Hurrell for a special remix of the song – and it’s made us miss the dancefloor.
The remix came about after Neon Dreams put out a post on Instagram asking fans which local artist they should collaborate with during their visit, Hurrell reached out with an idea on how to remix the song.
“It’s so good we had to release it,” says Adrian Morris, after receiving Hurrell’s remix of “Life Without Fantasies” after just two days. “He added some elements that give it a juicy summer vibe without losing any of the good parts of the original”.
Max Hurrell became a viral sensation after releasing his hit single ‘Zol’ in April last year. The song famously sampled a speech made by the country’s Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma where she announced that the sale of cigarettes and alcohol would be banned as South Africa went into lockdown to tackle the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
