It’s one of the most exciting festivals of the year as good food and good music come together for one epic weekend. Today, however, the folks at the DStv Delicious International Food And Music Festival have made us more excited than ever as they announce that American singer Macy Gray and South African legend Hugh Masekela will be this year’s headliners.
Macy Gray is known for her distinct voice and became incredibly popular after releasing her debut single ‘I Try’. She will be the headliner on the Saturday joining Mi Casa, De La Soul, Arrested Development, Elements of Lifefeaturing Louie Vega, Lisa Fischer, Josh Milan, Anané Vega, Monique Bingham, Adeva, Bucie, Kaylow, Luisito, and Quintero.
Meanwhile, The Jacksons will be taking the stage alongside Elements of Life, Roy Ayer, Lira, Judith Sephuma and Hugh Masekela on Sunday. “October 9th 2016 will be historic: in our 50th anniversary year, it is the first time The Jacksons will unite to perform in South Africa. We couldn’ t be more excited to close out the amazing DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival. South Africans are a great musical people and we can’t wait to see Johannesburg come out and rock with us!”said Jackie Jackson.
This year, the festival takes place over two days as it arrives at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on the 8th and 9th of October where over 40 000 attendees are expected to attend. Pair this all with the Nedbank Green Wine Garden, a decadent food market offering the finest foods and delicacies, great gourmet chef food restaurants, including Reuben Riffel, J’ Something, Sarah Graham, Somizi and Callie-Anne and it proves to be an incredibly entertaining day out that will satisfy all your senses.
