She’s 100% that bitch – and Lizzo fans are finally getting a taste of the star’s new music as she officially premieres her new single ‘About Damn Time’ – the new single off her upcoming studio album ‘Special’.
Lizzo reveals that her new record will drop on 15 July and that she is excited to get her new music out there. ‘About Damn Time’ is Lizzo’s first single since sharing “Rumors” (featuring Cardi B) last year.
Chatting to Zane Lowe, Lizzo admits that the song was inspired by multiple things and is a song that can lead into so many conversations. ““It’s about damn time I feel better, it’s about damn time we get out this pandemic. It’s about damn time we to get the first Black female Supreme Court Justice. There’s so many things. It’s about damn time we popped the champagne. It’s about damn time the tequila got here,” she tells the Apple Music host.
In the Christian Breslauer-directed video, Lizzo attends a Stressed & Sexy support group and she’s asked to share her thoughts with the class. She busts out of the classroom and grooves to the electrifying beats down a hallway paved with a disco-lit floor. Lizzo turns the school into a unified stress-relieving dance party, which includes synchronized swimmers, dancing in neon-lit cubicles, and doing the splits in glittery attire.
Lizzo can also currently be seen in Amazon Prime Video’s #1 reality show, Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls, streaming now exclusively via Prime Video.
