Little Mix – Touch

I’ve already raved about just how much I am enjoying Little Mix’s fourth studio album ‘Glory Days’ despite the fact that their lead single off the record ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ didn’t really do much for me. However, the girls have redeemed themselves by picking the strongest track off the album, ‘Touch’ as the official second single off the album.

The song is the definition of a perfect pop track. It’s a catchy track which will undoubtedly be a radio hit. The chorus is the highlight of the track and is quick to etch itself into the mind of the listener. The song is well-written and the production is simple yet effective. Adding subtle tropical elements to the pop track makes it sound incredibly current and a perfect fit for radio. Little Mix’s secret weapon, however, is how strong each member’s vocal is. The group won The X Factor UK and the show demands crafty, strong vocals. The girls use their vocals to give their music an edge (many pop stars are still fans of autotune) and although they still use vocal enhancements and technology on the track, their talent shines through and makes it something really special.

The girls also released a really creative video for the song, however, the video received a ton of backlash for being too ‘raunchy’. “It’s definitely not the Little Mix I know. The Little Mix I know aren’t raunchy or serious. They’ve changed too much,” a fan said on Twitter. Another follower of the group said “Little Mix’s Touch music video was kind of raunchy, the lyrics should’ve been changed to ‘Just a touch of your LUST’ not love.” The girls are seen dancing around a maze alongside sexy male backup dancers in the colourful music video which was directed by Director X. Do you think the group took it too far? Let us know in the comments.
