Lee Cole is a newcomer who you need to familiarize yourself with – ASAP! Still riding the wave of success his last heart-wrenching single “I Don’t Wanna Wait” achieved, the singer is back with a brand-new single titled ‘Pink Dragons’ which is all about putting yourself out there to save a relationship that has been pushed to its limits.
Beautifully produced, the song showcases Lee’s emotional vocal delivery while packaged together into a breezy and catchy pop ballad that commands attention.
Lee explains that the song came together while social distancing at home and that the song pushed himself creatively – something he is really proud about. “The melody really stood out to me because of its upbeat nature and just lent itself to positive and uplifting lyrics. At that stage, with the full song being fleshed out, I recorded the song in my bedroom and got to work producing it. The whole song was a very different experience for me because I had never used a guitar as a lead instrument before,” Lee tells us.
The song is accompanied by a music video which brings the lyrics in the song to life. It follows a man who’s fighting for his relationship, regardless of the few bumps it seems to have hit.
“The director and I sat down and discussed the vision and direction for the video back in April, and in our discussions we both settled on imagery that was bright and arty, yet very abstract. The director conceptualised the ideas of the balloons and hands to go hand-in-hand with the very specific and descriptive nature of the lyrics,” Lee says.
