SA’s Got Talent winner Johnny Apple has had an impressive career so far. The star released his debut self-titled album back in 2014 and his impressive ‘Tabula Rasa’ EP last year but the star is preparing something different for 2018. The star announced that he will be releasing an Afrikaans album this year – and fans around the country are incredibly excited to see what he cooks up.
Johnny has been spending time in the studio over the past few weeks and is expected to have a few more sessions over the next few months. Although a release date is still a blur, the star is expected to release the project later this year. Johnny grew up in an Afrikaans family and although he has enjoyed creating music in English, an Afrikaans album was bound to happen at some point.
In a clip posted to Instagram, the star gives fans a taste of what they can expect on the upcoming album while showing off his killer vocals. The ballad sounds incredible and we hope we see a healthy mix of slow jams and upbeat pop bangers on the record – something he’ll need to nail in order to make a name for himself in the very competitive industry. It’s great to see artists taking creative risks like this and we have no doubt Johnny will deliver a fantastic pop record. Now, we wait for the debut single…
