She’s one of the greatest pop stars in the world right now. As she continues her Vegas residency, filming the third and final season of Shades of Blue, putting the final touches on her upcoming rom-com ‘Second Act’ and collaborating with the finest Latin artists in the world, Jennifer Lopez continues her chart domination with a brand new solo Spanish single titled ‘El Anillo’ (or ‘The Ring’ when translated to English).
This time, J.Lo throws away the rule book and opts for a club banger like no other as the star continues her mission to dominate the dancefloors with this Spanish era (unlike the romantic, emotional ballads we saw on her previous Spanish album ‘Como Ama Una Mujer’). The track has one of the fiercest beats the star has given us in ages and it’s a bold move – one that has certainly paid off for the star.
The single has the potential to be an international crossover hit like ‘Despacito’ or ‘Mi Gente’ were and it’s great to see that J.Lo is still experimenting and pushing herself outside of her comfort zone on her new material.
The single is accompanied by a scorching hot music video which sees the singer play a queen who is assessing a long list of potential suitors vying for her attention. The video celebrates femininity and women empowerment. “It’s probably one of my favourite videos I’ve ever made. This is something on another level that I really love,” Jennifer says. “That whole idea of women being queens and understanding that and treating [themselves] like that and making somebody fight for you. That’s what the concept of it was. It’s like, fight for me and then you can ask me to marry you. Then, okay, where’s my ring?”
However, while the single is expected to blow up the charts over the next few weeks, the star isn’t done just yet. She has also confirmed that she will be releasing her DJ Khaled and Cardi B collaboration ‘Dinero’ really soon and we’re so here for the abundance of new music. ‘El Anillo’ is now available to download or stream on your favourite digital platform now.
