I’m sure there were many music lovers around the world who, like me, got really excited when Gwen Stefani announced her comeback single ‘Baby Don’t Lie’ – her first single in over six years. The song was released earlier this week and she also rush released the music video. Now don’t get me wrong, the song isn’t bad. It’s got a great reggae feel to it and I think it’s in line with what the world is loving at the moment. Sure, it’s generic, but it’s not a bad comeback single.
The video on the other hand, is horrible! Gwen loves her themed videos and tried to go the ‘Wizard of Oz’ route this time and failed miserably. The editing, the moves, the colours just don’t gel and it looks like it was made in a day. If this is an indication of how her comeback is going to be, I’ll just focus all my attention on Fergie. Or the new Taylor Swift. Depends on the day.
