After two jam-packed days, we finally set out to the Yas Waterworld and Ferrari World experience included in the prize. After a delicious breakfast, we set out to Yas Waterworld – a huge water park on Yas Island. I’m glad we came here on the last day because I acclimatized to the heat nicely. The park is huge and features over 40 rides with something for everyone. There are kid-friendly rides, relaxing rides and thrilling rides (I may or may not have lost my voice that day!). I had an amazing time here. Should you attend in a group, I highly suggest renting a cabana. Not only is there a fan, but also some fruit, cold drinks and a safe to keep your valuables. I had the time of my life here. There are some damn scary rides at Yas Waterworld which are bound to get your adrenalin pumping. There is also a diving experience, shops and restaurants to make this adventure the perfect day out.
After a few hours in the heat, the group and I went over to Yas Mall to have a bite to eat. We decided to visit The Cheesecake Factory (for obvious reasons) before heading out to Ferarri World. While most of the group indulged in burgers, I went for the chicken piccata – and boy, was it tasty! Then, after stuffing my face, we had to try some of the cheesecakes, right? Since we were so full, we decided to share a coconut cheesecake, Oreo cheesecake, Reeces peanut butter cheesecake and a red velvet cheesecake and we were in complete ecstasy! The cakes are phenomenal and I’m still so mad we don’t have this franchise here in South Africa.
Ferrari World was out of this world. It is a huge area with a whole bunch of attractions, rides and some history on the famous brand. Ferrari World is also home to the fastest rollercoaster in the world – the Formula Rossa. This is an adrenaline rush of note and a total must when visiting. However, this isn’t the only rollercoaster at the park. A new ride is almost complete and it is also home to the terrifying Flying Aces. Now, although not as fast as the Formula Rossa, this is wilder. More twists, more turns and a whole lot more screams. This was a fantastic ride and scary AF. Besides rollercoasters, there are also some awesome simulators, 3D rides and a whole more at Ferrari World. If, like me, you did the two parks in one day, make sure you manage your time properly.

After a busy day, we arrived back at the hotel, freshened up, and went to the Blu Sky Lounge and Grill sports bar at the Southern Sun Abu Dhabi. It’s got some pretty cool official Manchester City memorabilia on display, huge TVs screening multiple sports, delicious food, alcohol and a great vibe. It was the perfect place to unwind with some of the awesome staff we met on our journey. It was the perfect way to end a perfect few days in Abu Dhabi.
