E! Entertainment’s popular entertainment block E! News will officially come off air after 29 years as NBCUniversal that runs E! is “looking to streamline its programming and restructure internally to create more efficiencies”. The station has confirmed that ‘Pop of the Morning’, and Jason Kennedy’s ‘In the Room’ will also be coming off air.
The cancellation comes eight months after the show’s production was moved from Los Angeles to New York.
NBCUniversal adds that the Covid-19 pandemic played a major role in the decision to axe the show as a result of cutbacks at the network.
The show’s current hosts Lilliana Vazquez and Scott Tweedie have been at the helm of the series since January 2020 after Giuliana Rancic and Jason Kenny left their hosting spots in late-2019.
Lilliana addressed the news in an Instagram post where she admits she will miss hosting the iconic series – and even it’s 4am call time.
