Matthew Mole’s second studio album, ‘Run’, is easily one of my favourite pop releases of the past 12 months. After releasing the hit singles ‘Run’ and ‘Moving On’ last year, Matthew kicked off 2017 with ‘Light’ – the third single off the project. While I had mixed feelings about the single, the singer has just dropped a piano acoustic version of the song and everything is right in the world again.
The ‘warehouse’ version of the song sees the singer strip the song down as he sits behind the piano and gives an intimate, emotional performance of the song. Mathew adds percussion, shakers and an epic drum solo to create something incredibly unique – something that gives the song new life. Without the autotune, Matthew’s raw talent is clearer than ever and the message shines through brighter than ever.
The song appears on the brand new ‘Light EP’ Matthew released last week. The EP also includes the original version and a ‘Quarry Version’. The EP is available on iTunes now for only R24.99.
