For nearly a decade, MÖRDA has been redefining the sound of African electronic music. With Asante IV, the South African producer proves once again that he’s not interested in standing still.
Released on Friday (July 31), Asante IV is the fourth chapter in MÖRDA’s acclaimed Asante series, a 19-track journey that blends Afro-house, soulful electronic music and cinematic production into one of the year’s most ambitious dance releases.
The album finds MÖRDA leaning further into the sound that has made him one of Africa’s most respected producers, effortlessly balancing club-ready rhythms with moments of reflection, warmth and emotional depth. It’s the kind of project that works just as well soundtracking a sunrise DJ set as it does through a pair of headphones on a late-night drive.
“This project represents gratitude, collaboration and musical freedom,” MÖRDA says. “I wanted to create something that moves people physically, emotionally and spiritually, while continuing to explore new sounds without losing the essence of what Asante has always stood for.”

DJ Zinhle, Brenden Praise, Chronical Deep, Mo-T, LaTique, !Sooks, Kitchen Mess, Meguel and Suffocate all contribute to the project, helping create an album that feels expansive without ever losing its identity.
