The end of a relationship always comes with a flood of emotion. It’s such an emotional rollercoaster that it has become the premise for millions of songs around the globe. Now, as he announces his forthcoming EP ‘Wide Awake’, Liam Burger navigates this emotional turmoil on his new single ‘Falling Apart’.
“’Falling Apart’ is a song about a relationship coming to a non- mutual end, leaving the other half heartbroken,” Liam tells us. “The song is not based on my personal experiences, but of a few close friends that had in the past year separated from long term partners as well as ended relationships with close friends.
He adds “In this song I have written about that feeling of rejection after giving someone your all and without this person in your life you cannot function, and your life starts to fall apart.”
‘Falling Apart’ is set to appear on Liam’s upcoming EP ‘Wide Awake’ – a project he is excited for his audience to finally hear. “’Wide Awake’ is a body of work written in the peak of lockdown: each song depicts a different emotion felt during this time,” Liam tells us of the project. “‘Wide Awake’ is about reflecting on the past and issues I have tried to overcome, as well as what I want for my future.”
The song is a beautifully written piece of poetry and highlights just how talented Liam is at sharing personal stories that will touch the hearts of those who stumble upon it. Additionally, his smooth, controlled vocal gives the song elevates the song to a deeper emotional space. This could possibly be Liam’s best single to date.
