In it’s five years, the South African Comic’s Choice Awards has become one of the biggest platforms that celebrate and award our South African comedians. Also, in the past five years, the local comedy scene has grown a tremendous amount and I believe it’s because of award ceremonies such as this one, Comedy Central and Parkers Comedy and Jive, putting our local comedians on the platforms they deserve. Naturally, Trevor Noah was the big winner last night at the awards held at Montecasino’s Teatro, winning the Best Flying Solo Comic as well as the coveted Comic of the Year award. Here is the full list of winners from last night’s ceremony:
